Wa'a Fund
We are home to nearly 150 members and located at the oceanfront of the beautiful valley of Nānākuli.
We strive to promote excellence within our organization and to perpetuate the culture and sport of Hawaiian canoe racing. Every year our canoe club grows and our paddlers outperform themselves both on and off the water, balancing their dedication to their crew and their responsibility as good stewards of our land.
We are in desperate need of practice canoes (wa'a) to accommodate our growing club. As a small non-profit organization, we rely heavily on donations and fundraisers to help with operational and equipment cost. We are in a situation where our obligation as Native Hawaiians to carry on and teach our cultural knowledge and practices to our community are hindered because of the lack of equipment - especially as we welcome more people who are willing to learn and embrace this sport.
How can you help?
Leeward Kai Canoe Club is a registered non-profit organization in the state of Hawai'i. Every donation you give us will go straight into helping us obtain practice canoes - new or old to be added into our fleet. We could definitely use your help.
